Delivery!

As I walked into our home I spotted a white package on our dining table with my name on it. I have been waiting for this moment for so long.

I have always loved receiving mail! I can remember when I was a child I would wait eagerly for the postman and run outside with my mum or dad to collect the mail from our mailbox. I loved Postman Pat and his black and white cat and the Jolly Postman books by Jane & Allen Ahlberg (as soon as I had my daughter I bought those stories for her…and secretly me). I enjoyed the ritual of sending and receiving mail and to this day that little child inside me leaps every time I find a letter or parcel addressed to me (even if it is a bill, although the excitement soon leaves me when I open a bill).

This package was one of those life changing packages. Every day for the past few weeks I had been wishing and hoping it would arrive.

I took a deep breath and as I picked up the package I noticed it was from my publisher, I was instantly overcome with a wave of emotion. It was here. A dream was about to be realised. As I thanked the powers above for this very special moment, I tore open the package (it took a little time as I was shaking by this stage) and there it was. The first book in the Charlie’s Adventures series was here – cue the happy dance.

The advances of Charlie’s Adventures…in Hawaii had arrived. This is a moment I have been dreaming of my entire life. My first children’s book was here in my hands. Sophie Norsa had done a magnificent job, Charlie looked exactly as he should and she had captured the beauty and vibrancy of Hawaii on each page. The team at Little Steps had made this book and experience so magical. Charlie’s Adventures…in Hawaii was exactly how I envisioned it to be.

I am thrilled to be able to share Charlie with the world and I am even more elated that this incredible dream has come true. I am so grateful to those who helped me get here. For those who seek adventure…do more than just exit, keep following your passion and I hope you enjoy the read. Dreams do come true and thank you to the postman who bought mine to me!
